Catch the Wind Inc.’s poster presentation, Increased Power Production From Utility Scale Wind Turbines With Laser Wind Sensor Control, was given at the Canadian Wind Energy Association’s Conference and Exhibition, November 1-3, 2010 in Montreal, Canada.

This presentation focused on the advantages of using forward looking laser wind sensing technology to measure wind speed and direction in the undisturbed inflow in front of each wind turbine. Recent test results show that using more accurate and timely wind data to control a wind turbine improves its performance by increasing power output and reducing turbine stress.
