Laser Wind Sensors Address Challenges to Development of Offshore Wind Energy

Catch the Wind Inc.’s poster presentation given at the North American Offshore Wind Conference and Exhibition, hosted by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) October 5-7, 2010 in Atlantic City, NJ.

The presentation, Laser Wind Sensors Address Challenges to Development of Offshore Wind Energy, used recent test results to compare measurements taken by a laser wind sensor with those taken by traditional anemometry and the disadvantages of using the latter to control a wind turbine.

The presentation also focused on utilizing laser wind sensors for offshore wind resource assessment, providing an affordable alternative, which can be easily deployed.
