Jo S. Major, PhD | Chairman of the Board
Dr. Major is currently the Chief Executive Officer and General Partner of InSite Partners, LLC. Prior to that, Dr. Major was Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board of Avanex. Prior to that, he held several positions within JDSU/SDL, the most being Senior Vice President, Components Business Group, and prior to that, Vice-President of the Optical Pump Business Unit, Director of Product Development, and Staff Scientist. Dr. Major holds each of a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
David Garman | Director
David Garman is currently a principal in the consulting firm Decker Garman Sullivan and Associates, LLC. Prior to launching Decker Garman Sullivan and Associates, LLC, Mr. Garman was the Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Mr. Garman currently serves on several boards of directors and advisory boards, including the Electric Power Research Institute Advisory Board and the States Energy Council. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University and a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University.
Marty Crotty | Director
Mr. Crotty is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Upwind Solutions, Inc. Prior to joining Upwind Solutions, Mr. Crotty was an executive with AES Corporation from 2005 to 1010, having served most recently as President of its Wind Generation Business and, prior to that, as Managing Director Wind Asset Management. Prior to AES, he was Executive Vice President of Asset Management for SeaWest WindPower Inc. from 2002 to 2005, and Director of Regional Operations for NRG Energy Inc. from 1999 to 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from the New School for Social Research and a Master of Engineering Management from George Washington University.
Susan Nickey | Director
Ms. Nickey was the Chief Financial Officer of Acciona Energy North America Corporation. Prior to joining Acciona, Ms. Nickey was Managing Director, Investment Banking, Project Finance Group of Mesirow Financial, Inc., a private asset management and financial services firm. Prior to that, she was Vice President, Project Finance/Communications Group, ABN AMRO Bank, and later Vice President, Investment Banking, of ABN AMRO, Inc., and a Principal with Carr, Nickey & Company, a financial advisory firm. Ms. Nickey holds Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a Finance Major from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service with a concentration in International Trade and Finance.
